Your 6-Day Welcome to Lapland Christmas Holiday Journey

Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland, is also known as the hometown of Santa Claus. The city is surrounded by arctic nature, full of Lappish culture and a wide range of activities. On your arrival at the airport a driver will wait for you in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name on it and will drive you to your accommodation. The journey takes about 10 minutes.
If you arrive early, take a leisurely stroll along the snowy streets and visit the Rovaniemi Art Museum or the Arktikum, which offers fascinating exhibits on Arctic life and history. If you’d like to add any additional tours or activities to your Lapland Christmas Holiday package, please let us know. In the evening, consider a relaxing dinner at one of Rovaniemi’s delightful restaurants, offering both local Lappish cuisine and international dishes

A visit to Finnish Lapland wouldn’t be complete without a stop at Santa Claus Village, the official home of Father Christmas, located right on the Arctic Circle. Open every day of the year, the village has a charming, fairytale feel that makes it a truly special place to experience.
During your visit, a professional photographer will capture this memorable moment in a dedicated photoshoot, resulting in 20 to 30 carefully edited high-quality digital images. After the photoshoot, you’re free to stay in Santa Claus Village and explore the shops, attractions, and surroundings at your own pace.

A lot of people travel to Finland to see northern lights and in the evening it’s time for the best Rovaniemi northern lights tour. Remember that the northern lights are wily and unpredictable, but this tour will give you the best possible chance to see them. Your professional guide will determine where the highest possible chance for aurora sightings is. You will visit a few different locations unless your guide knows for sure that northern lights will appear on a certain location, then you’ll go there. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy the show. Professional photos will be taken of you during the tour and shared afterwards.

It’s time to leave Rovaniemi behind and head to Levi. This beautiful fell is one of the largest ski centres and a very popular winter holiday destination in Finland. The ski resort offers slopes suitable for beginners, intermediate skiers and even experts. The area is also perfect for cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and other fun winter activities. The region has also produced some of Finland’s finest artists so you can find a few art galleries and museums worth visiting there as well. The duration of the journey is about 2.5 hours.

Enjoy a family-friendly snowmobile safari designed for all ages. Adults ride their own snowmobiles while children travel safely in a guide-driven sleigh, with the chance for kids aged 4 and up to try specially designed children’s snowmobiles in a secure area. Along the way, you’ll stop at a cozy hut for hot drinks and biscuits before heading back through the snowy forest, making this a fun and memorable winter adventure for the whole family.
Today it’s time to say goodbye and end your trip to Lapland. Your driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Kittilä airport for your departing flight.
After breakfast, your driver will collect you from your accommodation for the one-hour journey to Ivalo Airport, where your Finnish Lapland Northern Lights adventure concludes. Depart with unforgettable memories of Arctic wilderness, five unique aurora hunting experiences, and the magic of Finland's winter wonderland.
