Baltic Capitals Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Vilnius!
On your arrival at Vilnius airport a driver will wait for you in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name on it and will drive you to your accommodation. The journey takes about 20 minutes. If you arrive in Vilnius early, you can immediately start exploring its charming Old Town.
Day 2: Discover the Highlights of Vilnius
Discover the old and new sides of Vilnius with a local guide. The UNESCO listed Old Town is one of the world’s largest surviving medieval old towns, full of Baroque, Gothic, Neoclassical, and Renaissance architecture. Have the local craft beer at our favourite cafe, try some Lithuanian specialities and fall in love with this fascinating city.
Free time: Explore Vilnius in more depth. Head out to the Republic of Užupis, visit the Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights, the Hill of Three Crosses, or St Peter & St Paul’s Church.
Day 3: Vilnius Day Trip Suggestion
Free time: Your trip to Lithuania wouldn’t be complete without exploring the beautiful Lithuanian countryside. It’s possible to visit Trakai Castle or Kaunas as an easy day trip from Vilnius. Both places are easy to reach from Vilnius by car, by train or by bus.
Day 4: Vilnius to Riga by Bus
It’s time to change one Baltic capital to another and travel to Latvia. Your driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Vilnius and take you to the bus station. Tickets and seat reservation on this 4-hour journey with a modern and luxurious bus will be provided. On arrival, another driver is waiting for you at the bus station to take you to your hotel in the centre of Riga.
Day 5: Discover the Old Town of Riga
Get ready to explore this vibrant UNESCO listed old town of Riga with a local guide. Walk through the winding streets and cobbled alleys and discover the hidden past from 1201 to the present day. Continue to the famous Riga Central Market.
Free time: Head to the Art Nouveau district on Alberta Street. Take a scenic boat ride around the canals, or catch a show at the Latvian National Opera and Ballet.
Day 6: Riga Day Trip Suggestion
Free time: Today we suggest you escape Riga and take a day trip to the Latvian countryside. Jūrmala is perfect for a relaxing day. For nature lovers, there are many things to do and see in Gauja National Park – hiking, canoeing, or visiting Turaida and Cēsis castles. A visit to Rundale Palace is another highlight, and Kuldīga is perfect to get off the beaten path.
Day 7: Riga to Tallinn by Bus
Today you will leave Riga behind and travel to Estonia and its capital Tallinn. Your driver will pick you up and take you to the bus station. Tickets and seat reservation on this 4.5-hour journey with a modern and luxurious bus will be provided. On arrival, another driver takes you to your hotel in the centre of Tallinn.
Day 8: Discover the Old Town of Tallinn
Enjoy a fun and history-packed walking tour of Tallinn Old Town with a knowledgeable local guide. The UNESCO listed Old Town is one of the best preserved Hanseatic town centres in the world. Discover beautiful old churches, unique merchant houses, historic town hall, and imposing city defences.
Free time: Explore Kadriorg park and palace, Telliskivi Creative City, Rotermann Quarter, or the Noblessner seafront quarter.
Day 9: Tallinn Day Trip Suggestion
Free time: Discover Estonia in more depth. Lahemaa National Park is perfect for a day trip. Visiting a bog is a must do in Estonia. Alternatively, head to Paldiski to see Soviet history and limestone cliffs, and visit the unique Rummu submerged quarry or the romantic Keila-Joa waterfall.
Day 10: Farewell!
Time to say goodbye and end our Baltic capitals tour. Your driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Tallinn airport for your departing flight. Safe flight!
