Baltic Holiday Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Vilnius!
On your arrival at the airport a driver will wait for you in the arrivals hall holding a sign with your name on it and will drive you to your accommodation. The journey takes about 20 minutes.
If you arrive in Vilnius early, you can immediately start exploring its charming Old Town, admire the stunning baroque architecture, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of this historic city.
Day 2: Discover the Highlights of Vilnius
Discover the old and new sides of Vilnius with a local guide. Vilnius is a charming city full of history, culture, art, quirky neighbourhoods and cool bars and restaurants. The UNESCO listed Old Town is one of the world’s largest surviving medieval old towns, full of Baroque, Gothic, Neoclassical, and Renaissance architecture. Have the local craft beer at our favourite cafe, try some Lithuanian specialities and fall in love with this fascinating city.
Free time: After your tour explore Vilnius in more depth. Head out to the Republic of Užupis, visit the Museum of Occupations and Freedom Fights, the Hill of Three Crosses, or St Peter & St Paul’s Church.
Day 3: Vilnius Day Trip
Your Baltic holiday wouldn’t be complete without exploring the Lithuanian countryside. Visit a rural community center, learn about Lithuanian traditions, and head on to explore the picturesque town of Trakai. Enjoy a boat ride around the island and the castle and admire pristine nature and medieval atmosphere. The duration of the tour is about 8 hours.
Day 4: Vilnius to Klaipeda by Private Transfer
Get ready for a memorable day, as you trade Vilnius for Klaipeda, with stops at the UNESCO listed Hill of Crosses and at the Cold War Museum. The journey takes around 7 hours, including stops.
Klaipeda, the third largest city in Lithuania, is full of surprises. Its pleasantly homely old town is full of cosy restaurants, pubs and cafes. Klaipeda is the gateway to the Curonian Spit. Upon arrival check into your hotel, then head out to the waterfront and explore the Old Town centre.
Day 5: Explore Curonian Spit
Today you’ll be travelling to the UNESCO listed Curonian Spit, a 100-kilometre sandbar. With a local guide you will discover the scenic town of Nida with its Amber gallery, visit the tallest drifting sand dune in Europe, the mysterious Hill of Witches, and learn about the rich cultural heritage of the traditional fishermen’s way of life.
Day 6: Klaipeda to Kuldiga by Private Transfer
It’s time to travel to Latvia and Kuldīga with a visit to Liepāja along the way. You will pass by outstanding examples of Liepāja Art-Nouveau architecture, enjoy the beauty of the Seaside Park, and visit Karosta – the largest historical military garrison in the Baltics. The journey takes around 7 hours, including stops.
Day 7: Kuldiga to Riga by Private Transfer
Kuldīga is the unpolished gem of Latvia, preserving the charm of an ancient city with narrow cobblestone streets, old wooden buildings and the widest waterfall of Europe – Ventas Rumba. Before travelling to Riga you will do a short city tour of Kuldīga. You’ll also stop at the beach town of Jūrmala along the way. The journey takes around 5 hours.
Day 8: Discover the Highlights of Riga
Get ready to explore this vibrant UNESCO listed old town of Riga with a local guide. Walk through the winding streets and cobbled alleys and discover the hidden past from 1201 all the way to the present day. Continue to famous Riga Central Market.
Free time: Head to the Art Nouveau district on Alberta Street, take a scenic boat ride around the canals, or catch a show at the Latvian National Opera and Ballet.
Day 9: Rundale Palace Tour
Today you’re heading outside the city of Riga to Rundale Palace, the most beautiful baroque palace in Latvia (66 km South of Riga). The palace built in the 18th century is an outstanding example of the early work of architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli. The most impressive are the Golden Hall, the White Hall, and the bedroom of the Duke of Courtland. The duration of the tour is around 5 hours.
Day 10: Riga to Pärnu by Private Transfer
Today you will leave Riga and travel to Estonia and its summer capital Pärnu. Along the way you will stop in Gauja National Park – perfect for nature lovers. Visit Cēsis and Turaida castles for medieval history. Take a cable car ride over Gauja River or try the famous bob-sleigh track. The journey takes around 7 hours, including stops.
Day 11: Visit Kihnu Island
We invite you to a tour of Kihnu with a local guide. We will tour the island by car or by bike and have a look at all the main attractions. During the tour, you will hear fascinating facts about what is important for the culture of Kihnu: the language, traditional clothes, craft skills, folklore, and maritime affairs. This regenerative travel experience lets you engage with the local Kihnu community and learn about their rich culture and way of life.
Day 12: Pärnu to Tallinn by Private Transfer
It’s time to travel to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia. Your driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Pärnu and drive you to Tallinn. Consider stops at charming Haapsalu, the Rummu Prison quarry, Paldiski, or Keila-Joa waterfall. The direct journey takes around 2 hours.
Day 13: Discover the Highlights of Tallinn
Enjoy a fun and history-packed tour of Tallinn Old Town with a knowledgeable local guide. The UNESCO listed Old Town is one of the best preserved Hanseatic town centres in the world. Discover beautiful old churches, unique merchant houses, historic town hall, and imposing city defences.
Free time: After your city tour explore Kadriorg park and palace, Telliskivi Creative City, or the Rotermann Quarter.
Day 14: Bogshoeing Tour
Leave the city hustle behind and get active during a bog shoe hike. The bogs are places very dear to all Estonians and have been part of our culture for centuries. The bog-shoe hiking takes you to places what otherwise would be inaccessible. We hike around the bog pools, admire the wildlife, climb the watch-tower and listen to mysterious stories and legends about the bogs.
Day 15: Tallinn to Helsinki Ferry
It’s time to say goodbye to the Baltic States as you are taking a ferry from Tallinn to Helsinki. In the morning your driver will take you to the port. On arrival to Helsinki another driver takes you to your hotel in the centre.
After a short break you will do a city tour of Helsinki centre and the UNESCO fortress island of Suomenlinna. The tour starts with the basics of Helsinki and Finland, takes you to taste fresh local ingredients and ends at the beautiful fortress right in front of Helsinki.
Day 16: Farewell!
Time to say goodbye and end your Baltic holiday. Your driver will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the airport for your departing flight.
